El pasado 27 de enero, estuvimos de cumpleaños: Caritas Nacional del Ecuador cumplió 63 años de su fundación y puesta en marcha.
¿Cómo cambio el país en estos 63 años?: la sociedad, las familias y las comunidades, la política, el trabajo y la economía, la vida y acción de la Iglesia.
En todos estos años Cáritas trato de estar presente de muy distintas formas, con iniciativas y actividades muy distintas; sin duda, en algunos casos, de manera muy asistencial, incluso asistencialista; en otros, acompañando, compartiendo, ayudando, respondiendo a necesidades y emergencias, generando algunos cambios en la vida de las personas, y en otros, promoviendo procesos transformadores, liberadores, comunitarios y creando nuevas oportunidades para un futuro mejor.
En esta fecha tan especial para nuestra organización es momento de felicitar a toda nuestra iglesia ecuatoriana por desplegar de tantas formas y maneras LA COMPASIÓN Y LA SOLIDARIDAD por todo el territorio nacional, por poner en el centro a la persona, con todas sus dimensiones, la familia, la comunidad, las personas más vulnerables y vulneradas, las/los niños y niñas, adolescentes y jóvenes, los pueblos indígenas y las comunidades campesinas, las mujeres y los ancianos, las personas sin trabajo digno y sin futuro, los migrantes en el interior del país, los venidos del exterior y los retornados… y tantos otros colectivos.
Felicitamos a los agentes de la pastoral social de toda nuestra iglesia, a los voluntarios y voluntarias de mas de 600 grupos de Cáritas parroquiales, los religiosos y religiosas, sacerdotes implicados en todas las obras sociales, fundaciones, proyectos, actividades parroquiales que están desarrollando diversos espacios de acogida, acompañamiento, escucha, comedores, dispensarios médicos, apoyo de todo tipo, … que son auténticamente LA CARICIA DE DIOS a sus predilectos.
Porque Cáritas no vive del pasado, sino en el presente, es constructora de un futuro, que tratamos de que, cada vez se parezca más al Reino que Jesús que nos propone en el Evangelio.
Por eso, en esta hora y en este momento histórico que nos esta tocando vivir, Cáritas Ecuador, quiere seguir estando presente, haciendo lo que le toca y puede, sirviendo y acompañando, fortaleciendo la esperanza de quienes más lo necesitan.
