Cáritas Ecuador participó en el Segundo Congreso de Localización de la Acción Humanitaria en América Latina y el Caribe, realizado el 6 y 7 de mayo en Bogotá. La organización lideró el panel denominado «Programas de Transferencias Monetarias Liderados Localmente», donde, junto a expertos de Colombia, Brasil, Venezuela y Ecuador, se compartieron valiosas experiencias sobre la implementación de programas de transferencias monetarias (PTM) enfocados en fortalecer la respuesta humanitaria desde el ámbito local. Un espacio enriquecedor para promover prácticas más efectivas y cercanas a las comunidades.
Este evento, organizado por EuroPana Región y Together, con apoyo de la Unión Europea y GIZ, reunió a líderes comunitarios, organizaciones locales, redes regionales, cooperantes, actores internacionales y representantes institucionales de toda la región, en un espacio de diálogo y acción conjunta para avanzar hacia una ayuda humanitaria más localizada, efectiva y sostenible.
En representación de Cáritas Ecuador, el MsC. Francisco Guevara, responsable de acceso humanitario, moderó el panel: “Transferencias monetarias: adaptando la ayuda para un impacto sostenible”, en el que también participaron Camila Salas, técnica nacional del programa de transferencias monetarias de Cáritas Ecuador, junto a Roberto Saraiva (Servicio Pastoral de Migrantes – Brasil), Ricardo Suárez (Cáritas Venezuela) y Paola Benjumea (consultora independiente).
Desde Cáritas Ecuador reafirmamos nuestro compromiso con una acción humanitaria centrada en las personas, basada en la dignidad, la participación y el fortalecimiento de capacidades locales.
